 Passport validity period

Different countries may have different rules regarding passport validity, but there are some general recommendations:

  • Minimum passport validity: Many countries require that your passport be valid for at least 6 months after the date of entry or exit from the country. This rule is especially common in Asia, Africa and South America.
  • Visa-free countries: In some countries with which your country has visa-free entry agreements, there may be shorter passport validity periods - from 1 to 3 months after the date of entry.
  • Visas: When applying for a visa, make sure that your passport is valid for the entire period of the requested visa, as well as for some time after its expiration (usually from one to six months depending on the country).

All passengers must check the rules of crossing the border of destination and transit countries in the relevant consular services
